BSF constructs cycle shed in memory of martyrs

Imphal, November 05 2018:
A cycle shed constructed for students of Model High School, Kakching was handed over to the school in the presence of the students, teachers and the managing committee by 54 Battalion BSF under the aegis of Sector HQ, Koirengei BSF.
The cycle shed which was constructed under Civic Action Programme in memory of Late Constable Koichung Athang Aimol was inaugurated by his wife Ringnu Aimol, said a statement of VLK Vaiphei, DC/Adjt, 54 Bn BSF today.
Late Koichung Athang Aimol joined BSF in 2002 and served in Jammu & Kashmir, Rajashthan and Chattishgarh in ANO.
On June 26, 2011, while on ROP duty at Koilibeda (Ranker Distt) Chattisgarh the ops party was ambushed by about 150 naxals.
In the encounter (L) Ct Koichung Athang Aimol succumbed to his injuries and the supreme sacrifice he made was recognised by the Gol by awarding Mm Police Medal for Gallantry posthumously.
The supreme sacrifice of Martyr Koichung Athang Aimol in the line of duty will be remembered by the Nation, said the statement.
