MSc Nursing Course from Dec: Health Minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh has announced that MSc Nursing course would be opened in the State by next month.
He was speaking at the foundation day of the College of Nursing, Manipur cum oath taking ceremony of the 1st year BSc Nursing students which was held today at the Lamphelpat campus of the college.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, Health Minister L Jayantakumar said that the career of a nurse and its learning has no end.
He said that the dedication and sincere service of the nurses should be acknowledged and appreciated by one and all.
The nurses should also let the patients and patient parties feel comfortable and happy when they are rendering their service.
Doctors and nurses should also understand the humane aspects and nature of the persons on hospital beds, he added.
He advised doctors and nurses to serve with dedication and sincerity so that their service is remembered even after their retirement.
"When we went outside the State for healthcare services, the doctors there asked us why we came all the way to their States/cities when Manipur has so many outstanding and talented doctors", Jayantakumar said.
There are many talented doctors in the State but most of them are unwilling to consult fellow doctors even when they are not sure about a medical problem, he continued.
It appears that doctors in the State do not know how to consult each other, remarked the Health Minister.
The foundation day of the College of Nursing, Manipur cum oath taking ceremony of the 1st Year BSc Nursing students was also attended by Director, Health Services Dr K Rajo and Director AYUSH Dr G Guneshwar Sharma as president and guest of honour respectively.
Later, minister Jayantakumar attended AYUSH foundation day held at IMA Hall Lamphelpat.
At the function, he stressed about the importance of Ayush which has become an alternative medicine.
