Medical status report submitted

The State Medical Board submitted medical status report of Saikul MLA Yamthong Haokip before the Special Court NIA, after necessary examination this morning.
Yamthong Haokip was produced for medical examination before the State Medical Board by Sajiwa Jail authority from JNIMS security ward in the morning.
On October 29, Special Court NIA, Manipur, had directed the SP of Sajiwa Central Jail to make necessary arrangements for producing the MLA before the board for necessary medical examination and had also fixed today for considering the bail application filed by MLA's counsel on health ground after getting the report of the medical examination.
After the State Medical Board submitted their medical report today afternoon, the report was furnished to the counsels of both parties (NIA and bail petitioner) and the Court fixed tomorrow for the hearing of the bail application.
Mention may be made that Saikul MLA Yamthong Haokip has been lodged in judicial custody and is under medical treatment at JNIMS hospital security ward since August 24, in connection with his alleged involvement in the arms and ammunition missing case from 2nd Manipur Rifles arms kote.
Yamthong Haokip was arrested by a team of NIA in connection with the case, a few days after a two day consecutive raids were conducted at his Mantripukri residence (on July 30 and 31).During the raid, NLA recovered gold ornament worth around Rs 20 lakh, Rs 26.40 lakh in cash, one 9 mm pistol (which was among those missing from 2nd Manipur Rifles arms kote), one 9 mm Beretta, one double barrel gun, one single barrel gun, 22 live rounds of .32 pistol, 15 live rounds of 9 mm pistol, 4 live rounds of 7.62 rifle and 4 live rounds of AK series.
