Shija Mission Myanmar team conducts 70 ops so far

A day after reaching Monywa, the Mission Myanmar for Sight team from Shija Eye Care Foundation conducted 70 operations today.
The team is targeting to complete 130 cataract operations by December 27.As it has taken some times in setting up the OTs, the team could conduct 70 operations today.
So some more operations may be taken up on December 28.U Thar Aye, Chief Minister of Sagaing Division along with his two ministers visited the Mission Myanmar team in the General Hospital, Monywa.
He encouraged the patients, the team and inspected PHACO operation also.
Dr.Palin Kh, CMD, Shija Hospitals expressed gratefulness to both Governments ofMyanmar and Manipur and the hospital authority for offering the opportunity to operate in Myanmar.
He mentioned that more than 1.8 Million population of Myanmar are suffering silently from cataract blindness and become disabled.
They cannot see their lovely grandchildren and the beautiful nature where they were brought up.
The work rendered by Shija Eye Care Foundation is less than the tip of iceberg.
He also expressed the need to establish a specialized hospital in a suitable place in Sagaing on PPP model as already proposed by the Hon'ble CM of Manipur before, to provide affordable quality healthcare to the mass.
Dr.Palin stressed the importance of relationship between Manipur and Sagaing and requested him to expedite with his counterparts in India the process of Visa on arrival at Moreh for Myanmar nationals and removal of PAP (Protected Area Permit ) from Manipur.
He also informed the CM that the Rotary Club of Imphal is planning to adopt a Rotary Club at Tamu and conduct a mega Free Health Camp at Kale in the latter half of January, 2014 .
An interactive session between Monywa Institute of Economics and Dr.Palin Khon "Health Care Industry" is being organized at 2pm tomorrow in the hospital.
10 faculty members, 60 post graduate students and hospital management would be participating in the integrative session.
