Kakching Police detain 16 'illegal migrants'

Kakching, October 04 2012:
KAKCHING POLICE today detained 16 non-Manipuris from Sora who are suspected to be illegal migrants during a verification drive to check illegal migrants in the village.
The verification drive was carried out under the supervision of SP Thoubal Dr AK Jhaljit.
The verification drive began early morning and continued till late evening.
Police rounded up 30 non-Manipuris for not having valid legal documents.
They were further verified at Kakching Police Station and police detained 16 persons who could not produce proofs of their nationality.
Meanwhile, the district police have seized two Hyundai i10 cars, one Honda Activa and two lakh Actilab�T tablets during an operation today.
The three vehicles are suspected to be stolen vehicles.
One of the two cars is gray in colour with registration number MN04A-7398 while the other is white with registration number MN04A-8259.The Activa is black and has registration number MN04-6425 .
On the other hand, Actilab�T tablets were found lying at a nullah at Sora Mayai Leikai after police used PA system to call out the villagers for verification.
Even though a strip of the tablet actually cost only Rs 6.27, it is sold at Rs 50 per strip in Moreh.
Police is yet to find the owner of the tablets.
