AR conducts Anti-Malaria campaign

42 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) organized an Anti-Malaria campaign at various villages in District Chandel from 1st to 3rd October 2012 .
Lecture cum demonstration on anti malaria precaution were taken at district Headquarter Chandel and villages of Machi, Larong, Bongyang by the Medical officers and paramedical sfaff.
The villagers were educated about the nuances of Malaria and various methods for protection against mosquitoes and clinical features of Malaria.
The importance of hygiene and sanitation as well as drainage system was also stressed upon during the campaign.
Mosquitoes repellant creams were distributed to the participants at Chandel.
A total of about 300 villagers attended the campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commandant of 42 Assam Rifles said that,Malaria is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in India especially in the North-East.
Best cure for the problem of Malaria is protection against mosquito-bite through steps taken at personal and community level.
