Senapati, October 04 2012:
Expressing its solidarity to the movement of JCHDSO on TET issue, the apex body of Senapati District, Naga People's Organization (NPO) has also expressed its resentment over the way the State Government has treated the issue of TET.
According to NPO, such treatment to the Tribals is not new and the TET issue movement initiated by JCHDSO is "genuine and appreciable".
Further, the objection of the State Government and department concerned in conducting TET examinations at the respective district headquarters is "unfortunate and uncalled for" .
It also stated that, the department concerned collecting Rs 300/for TET forms from those poor and unemployed candidates is unacceptable and illogical.
"The indifferent attitude of the State Government towards the Tribals in Manipur has been manifested by denying the demand of conducting exams and recruitments in the hills," the NPO stated while appealing the State Government to consider the genuine demand of the Tribal students at the earliest before the issue escalates.
While lauding the move of the JCHDSO formed by different tribal students' body, the NPO declared that it endorses and would extended its support and co-operation to the movement for general interest of the tribal students.
The State Government should understand the emotions of the student's fraternity rather than exercising its hidden agenda/politics of benefiting particular communities, the NPO stated while appealing the Government to understand and hear the plight and cry of the student's community.
