Lab equipments distributed

Imphal, October 04 2012:
CSIR � North East Institute of Science & Technology Substation today inaugurated a Science Laboratory of Heirok Higher Secondary School and also distributed laboratory equipments to 57 different schools of the state in a function held at the office of the CSIR�NEIST at Lamphelpat.
Speaking as Chief Guest of the function, Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro said that there are around 4000 government schools in the state and almost all the schools do not have adequate laboratory equipments.
It is a good step to provide laboratory equipments to selected schools who lack proper equipments.
Heirok Higher Secondary which has more than 2500 students is one of such schools which do not have its own science laboratory.
But the inauguration of the newly constructed laboratory will benefit the science students studying in the school.
The function was attended by MLA L Nandakumar and Chief Scientist of CSIR�NEIST Jorhat Assam, Dr BG Unmi also attended the function as President and Guest of Honour respectively.
