Dimapur, February 09 2016:
Nagaland
Chief Minister TR Zeliang today
said a new dawn is breaking for
the Nagas and that recent devel-
opments were welcome ones
which augur well for the people.
Addressing the Peren Divi-
sion NPF Consultative Meet
this morning at Jalukie in
Nagaland, the Chief Minister
narrated the sequence of events
leading to the coming together
of all 60 legislators thereby
paving way for the first ever
Opposition-less Government in
the history of democratic India.
"The political turmoil which
struck us early last year like an
earthquake, was really a bless-
ing in disguise because if the
crisis did not happen, who
knows, my ministry might not
have been as comfortable as it
is now since the erstwhile op-
position parties might have
remained staunch opposition,"
he said.
"But with the coming together of all the legislators we
are all of the same opinion that
early solution to the prolonged
Naga political issue is the prior
most on our agenda," the Chief
Minister said.
The Parliamen-
tary Working Committee which
consists of representatives of
all erstwhile political parties in
the State comprising of 23
members including the two
MPs had decided as recent as
yesterday to go to Delhi on the
15th of this month to meet lead-
ers of all political parties to
support early solution of the
Naga problem as and when the
matter comes up in the Parliament, he said.
