Imphal, February 09 2016:
Paddy fields of Manipur valley and natural produces of the State's surrounding hills constitute the backbone of Manipur's economy.
Expansion of agricultural land both in the hills and the valley would not only provide sources of livelihood for peasants but would also form the mainstay of the national economy.
Rather than devising any policy which can ensure perennial agricultural practices, the State has been continually usurping agricultural land.
As such, the idea of self-reliance in terms of food grains has been fading by and by.
Investment made by peasants in terms of energy and money is not compatible with their annual harvests.
Whatever profit peasants earn from their agricultural produces is minimal.
As a result, peasants of Manipur are not in a position to enjoy any form of economic security.
The impoverished masses are one group of people whose fundamental rights have been violated wantonly.
The gap between the super rich people and the poor masses has grown unassailable and the wealthy class has been exploiting the underprivileged people.
It's time to ponder why this exploited and underprivileged class of people do/can not think of waging a revolutionary movement for their rights, Pambei asserted.
Given this situation, all revolutionary groups of the land need to make themselves progressive so as to win back people's confidence.
All MPA cadres should discharge their duties with a clear vision.
Revolutionary leaders should make themselves role models for all revolutionary cadres so that there is a deep sense of comradeship and unity within the party.
Just because one holds a higher rank, he/she cannot be called a leader.
Being a leader should be defined by his/her character, vision and perseverance.
After studying the economic and political changes across the world, WESEA and Manipur, the need for a new phase of revolutionary movement was realised collectively .
Subsequently, as first step towards forming a united front of all the revolutionary groups of the land, the CorCom was set up in 2011 .
Since member parties have been working in close coordination and the CorCom would also join the liberation movement being waged in different parts of WESEA.
On the occasion of the MPA's 29th raising day, UNLF MAC Chairman Kh Pambei has conveyed revolutionary greetings to all revolutionary leaders and cadres of WESEA.
The MAC also paid tributes to all 'martyrs' as well as all those people who were killed by adversary forces.
It further conveyed best wishes who have been maimed due to atrocities committed by adversary forces and who have been imprisoned by the alien rule.
