Reformation of education system stressed

Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, chairman of Ukhrul District Autonomous Council (UADC) has category stated that education system in Ukhrul has to be reformed and revamped to usher in quality education.
The prevailing culture of substitution or proxy teachers appointment by the school authorities would be checked and such practice should not be tolerated under any circumstances, the ADC chairman categorically said.
Dr Yaronsho Ngalung was speaking on the occasion of Ukhrul District Teachers welfare Association( UTDWA) building inauguration programme.
He exalted the teaching community of the district for their innumerable services in tutoring and discipline the young children through education.
In this fast changing world, human resource development is considered as the key for all round development, he said.
Yaronsho Ngalung expressed strong concern that the performance of Govt schools remains poor in the district although the teachers are given adequate training from time to time.
He said the Ukhrul ADC members have resolved to enforce stringent district education policies without further delay in order to improve the situation.
He appealed to the teaching community to work sincerely and discharge their duty so that the education system in the district is transformed.
The chairman also assured to extend maximum support to the Ukhrul Teachers' Welfare Association in their endeavours for the wellbeing of the teachers.
Rev Somi Kasomwoshi, Pastor of UTBC said a special prayer for the teachers and dedicated the building.
RS Ramyo, Zonal Education Officer, Ukhrul attended the programme as the guest of honour.
Over 200 teachers including AIs, DIs and retired teachers of Ukhrul district attended the building inauguration function.
