Imphal, August 27 2026: Local clubs and Meira Paibi bodies of as many as 10 localities of Keishampat have decided not to allow any census related activities in their localities.

On the other hand, the North Imphal Meira and Coordinating Committee took out a torch rally around Koirengei this evening under the banner "No NRC, No Census" .

The protesters shouted slogans like "No NRC, No Census", "No IDP resettlement, No Census", "Identify all illegal immigrants" etc .

Speaking to media persons at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, United Clubs' Organisation Keishampat convenor Chongtham Iboyaima warned all enumerators and supervisors not to carry out any census related activity in the Keishampat areas.

He said that no census related activities will be allowed at Keishampat Thi- yam Leikai, Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, Keisham-pat Mutum Leikai, Keishampat Kangabam Leikai, Keishampat Jailor Leirak, Keishampat Kongjeng Ha-zari Leikai, Keishampat Leimajam Maning Mamang, Keishampat Khwairakpam Leikai, Keishampat Nepra Menjor Leikai and Keishampat Keisham Leikai.
