Imphal, January 25 2021:
Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) has urged the Union Agriculture Minister to repeal the contentious Farm Laws at the earliest in an email sent to the Minister.
MSC/CPI representing the farmers of the State extended their support to the protest being held at Delhi border by the farmers demanding that the Farm Laws which are against the interest of the farmers be revoked.
Reaffirming their stand against the Farm Laws, the party stated that it will strengthen and continue their protests until the Farm Laws are repealed.
The NDA Government should consult other members of Parliament and farmers and intellectuals before passing any Farm Bills, added the statement.
MSC/CPI further alleged that Chief Minister N Biren has turned a blind eye when the rights of the farmers are being violated in the State where large sections of the paddy fields in the State have been used for building schools, colleges, industries etc.
CPI also paid tribute to the farmers who lost their lives during the anti Farm Laws protests.
It may be mentioned that massive protests are being staged across the country demanding the Central Government to repeal the controversial Farm Laws which has garnered support from other countries as well.
More than 150 farmers have lost their lives during the course of the struggle.
