Imphal, November 26 2011:
The BDO, Imphal East II, CD Block, its Programme Officer and the office of the Executive Engineer, DRDO, Imphal East has refused to entertain a complaint relating to MGNREGS on the ground of the cease work strike carried out by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, complainant Md Jahiruddin of Kshetrigao Awang Leikai, said that a complaint was lodged to the Ombudsman (MGNREGS), Imphal East against the misuse of MGNREGS funds of 15 different areas of Kshetrigao a/c.The funds were used up without proper implementation of the work for which it was meant for.
The application which was served to the Ombudsman was flatly refused by the office of the Programme Officer (MGNREGS) BDO, Imphal East and the office of the Executive Officer, DRDO, Imphal East.
He further went on to say that even though the application was forcefully turned down by the officers of these offices, other unrelated works were carried out by the staffs.
If at all the cease work strike of the government officials are to be carried out, it should be done in the right manner.
Refusing to entertain complaint regarding the misuse of MGNREGS funds, but carrying out other officials work as usual is very unfortunate.
The complainant particularly complained of the misdoings of the concern staffs in areas like Sabal Leikai, Keikhu, Kshetrigao etc.
