PAP to go away for good from State

After the Protected Area Permit (PAP) System was lifted from Manipur for one year on trial basis, the same system is set to be lifted completely from the State.
According to a source in the Ministry of Home Affairs, the PAP System which was lifted from Manipur on December 30 last year for one year would be lifted from the State for good under certain conditions.
The conditions set by the Ministry are, the Centre would have the authority to review PAP system any time and Chinese, Pakistani and Afghan nationals would be required to obtain prior permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs before entering Manipur.
With regard to deportation of Chinese climber Zhang Ning from Classic Hotel to Guwahati yesterday, Tourism Commissioner KK Chhetry clarified that Zhang Ning was deported because he came to Manipur before finalising his documents.

Zhang Ning came to Manipur to participate in the speed climbing competition of the ongoing Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival.
