Imphal, September 12 2021: President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) N Loken has categorically stated that the Congress would return to power in the ensuing Assembly election in Manipur.

While welcoming N Helendro to the party fold during a function at Congress Bhawan, N Loken continued that the MPCC will do its utmost to stamp out Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the election, which is due in the early part of 2022.Claiming that the BJP is unable to complete even one-third of the projects completed by the Congress in its 15 years tenure, N Loken contended that the NDA Government led by the saffron party at the Centre will also fade after the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

The people of Manipur who are suppressing their resentment against the Government in fear of arrest will definitely teach BJP a lesson in the election, N Loken said and added that the Government talking highly of taking development to the hills and remote areas is embarrassing.

Meanwhile, N Helendo who contested the 2017 Assembly elections independently from Yaiskul Constituency said that he will work his best to ensure Congress return to power.

The felicitation ceremony was also attended by former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, CWC member Gaikhangam, and Congress MLAs among others.
