Sit-in-protests go on unabated

Imphal, August 23 2015:
Members of Manipur Masters Athletic Association today staged a sit-in-protest at Lairikyengbam Leikai demanding implementation of ILPS in the State.
The association's secretary RK Chouijit said that Manipur Land Revenue and Land constituted to probe the death of Sapam Robinhood should be submitted on time.
Saying that the instances of opposing ILPS movements in Churachandpur and Moreh were unfortunarte, RK Chour-jit stressed on the need to acknowledge the significance of ILPS among the people of different communities.
Reforms Act must be ammen-ded in order to protect the indigenous people of the State.
He also demanded that the report of the judicial inquiry .
He also called upon all concerned to avoid unwanted incidents in future.
Similar sit-in-protests were also staged at Kongba bazar, Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai and Khongman Oriental Club.
Meanwhile, over 2000 people including Meitei Pangals attended a public meeting jointly organised by JCILPS Student's Wing, JCILPS Women's Wing and Yairipok Wing at the community hall of Yairipok Bamon Leikai.
Later, the gathering took out a mass rally and submitted a memorandum to Wangkhem AC MLA K Meghachandra.
On the other hand, around 2000 people of Andro AC also submitted a similar memorandum to local MLA Th Shyamkumar.
