Bullet motorcycle lifter died, one hurt

Imphal, August 23 2015:
A suspected Bullet motorcycle lifter succumbed on Sunday and another injured while a third one managed to flee with the vehicle after people attacked them at Moirangkhom in Imphal West on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Phundreimayum Amjad Khan (31), a Constable of Ukhrul Police Station.
He was a resident of Sangaiyumpham under Thoubal district and the injured person was Md Amu Phundreimayum (25), a rifleman of 3rd IRB posted at Wangbal, also from Sangaiyumpham.
Police sources said that on Sunday morning at around 6 three persons came in an Alto car and lifted a Bullet motorcycle parked near an Axis Bank at Paona International Market.
One of them came down from the vehicle and drove away the motorcycle while the two followed the car from the back.
People who were present there immediately followed the trio and forced to stop the car at Moirangkhom at around 6.30 am.
Two of them were overpowered and severely thrashed by the people at the spot.
Amjad Khan was succumbed to his injuries at RIMS at around 1 pm, but Md Amu is now undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
The third one managed to escape with the motorcycle.
