Dr Nara stresses importance of Lamyanba Irabot's thinking in society

Lauding Hijam Irabot's great activities and contribution made towards welfare of Manipuri society, secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI) Manipur State Council, Dr M Nara said that today's generation needs to recall and remember the thinking and works of the pioneer at this crucial time.
Speaking at the 68th foundation day observation of CPI Manipur State Council on Sunday at Irabot Bhawan here, Dr Nara said that Hijam Irabot founded the CPI-MSC with an aim to make a society of equality where there is no discrimination and exploitation.
It was 68 years ago since Irabot founded the CPI Manipur State Council and now it is the time to recollect his thoughts by everyone at this crucial juncture, urged Dr Nara.
Irabot made his best effort to introduce a rule by people's representatives while sacrificing his life for the people of Manipur.
Explaining the roles played by the leader in opposing the formation of Purbanchal State, Nara also said that Irabot went on underground till the end of his life
in Myanmar.
Deputy Secretary (administration) of CPI-MSC, N Mangi who spoke on the observance foundation said that nothing can be compared with Irabot's works.
He said ILamyanba Irabot tried his best to bring equal development in both hills and valley of Manipur.
Mangi said that Irabot did not have the chance to attend the then state assembly though he was an elected representative.
Irabot spread the communist ideology throughout the state and now the CPI-MSC has been continuously following the steps of the leader, added Mangi.
Secretariat members of CPI-MSC, L Iboyaima and A Lala, and Control Commission chairman of CPI-MSC B Sharma and deputy secretary (organisation) L Thoiren attended the function as presidium members.
The participants also paid floral tribute to the photograph of the late leader as well as to Sapam Robinhood on the occasion.
