Imphal, August 23 2015:
National Identity Protection Committee on Sunday has strongly condemned the killing of S Walunglua Aimol by suspected NSCN (IM) cadres at Ngairong village in Chandel district on Saturday.
A statement signed by Secretary General NIPCO, Rishikanta Yumnam said that suspected NSCN (IM) cadres killed S Walunglua Aimol for refusing to become a Naga while few others were assaulted.
Killing and torturing of villagers, who have their own culture and identity, for refusing to merge into a Naga tribe is against the whole communities and it's condemnable, said the statement while adding that NIPCO will not remain a mere spectator if a larger community use force against smaller communities in the state.
Urging the Central and State Governments to take immediate action against such activities, the statement also warned that unwanted communal feelings may be created among the different inhabited communities in the state if the Government continues to sit and watch such incidents.
Such type of activities have been continuously adopted by the NSCN (IM) in the state since the two Governments have failed to keep an eye on them, alleged the statement.
