'Bike-lifter' lynched

Imphal, August 23 2015:
One individual allegedly involved in lifting a Royal Enfield Bullet from Paona Bazar has been lynched to death by a mob while his accomplice is undergoing treatment in hospital.
Md Majid Khan (35) s/o Amjad Ali of Sangaiyum-pham Pali Bazar, Thoubal district succumbed to injuries at RIMS at around 1.30 pm today.
His accomplice identified as Md Allaudin (27) s/o Siddique Ali belonging to the same locality was undergoing treatment at RIMS.
Majid, Allaudin and a third person came in a Maruti Alto car and they lifted a Royal Enfield Bullet parked beside Axis Bank ATM booth near Usha Hall, Paona Bazar this morning.
Even though the man who rode the Bullet could not be captured, the two who fled away in the Alto car were chased and captured by a group of people as the car broke down at Moirangkhom.
There they were thrashed by a mob.
The one who rode the Bullet has been identified as Phundreimayum Amuba (30) s/o Jaman Ali of Sangaiyum-pham Pali Bazar.
He is a Rifleman of 3rd IRB.
Even though both Majid and Allaudin were rushed to RIMS, Majid succumbed to the injuries.
His body has been deposited at RIMS morgue.
It is reported that two FIRs have been registered at City police station in connection with the incident.
Deceased Md Majid Khan is said to be police Constable.
The stolen vehicle belongs to one Yumlembam Rupachandra of Wangkhei Puja Lampak.
