The age of retirement of teachers of the State Govt Colleges have been raised from the existing 59 years to 60 years on superannuation.
An order has been issued by the Govt in this connection yesterday.
According to the order issued by secretary of Dept of Personnel and Administrative Reforms S Sunderlal Singh, the matter relating to raising the age of retirement of teachers of the State Govt Colleges from the existing 59 years has been under consideration of the State Govt for quite sometime in the past.
After careful consideration of all relevant UGC guidelines regarding the service conditions of college teachers and also with approval of the Council of Ministers in its meeting held on July 10, 2008, it has been decided by the State Govt that the age of retirement of the teachers of the State Govt colleges in superannuation shall be 60 years with immediate effect, the order said, directing that necessary action may, therefore, be taken by the Hr and Tech Education Dept, Manipur accordingly.
