Nagaland declared "Best National Muaythai Team"

The historic 8th IFMA National Muaythai Championships held at New Delhi's Bapu Samaj Kendra from July 26 to 28, 2008 was formally opened by President of Muaythai Federation of India, (MFI) Oken Jeet Sandham.
The Championships was organized by Muaythai Association of Delhi.
Aneile Kenye, MFI Media Cell Chairman and 24th SEA Games Observer was also official referee during the historic National Muaythai Championships at Delhi.
Those who got gold medals are Yangnai (51 kg Male), Shaiwang (48 kg Male), N Naiwang (54 kg Male), Thingyei (45 kg Junior Male), Hukavi (51 kg Junior Male), Shahmi (54 kg Junior Male), Achan (51 kg Junior Male) and the silver is Yakap (51 kg Male) while the three bronze medalists are Waluniba (57 kg Male), Toshimeren (48 kg Junior Male), and Joshep 48 kg Junior Male).
The Nagaland Muaythai Team was led by Takameren as Team manager while Angnyei, A Tangit and Tsakrendi as Referees.
Meanwhile, All Nagaland Amateur Muaythai Association (ANAMA) has expressed profound gratitude to Temjen Toy, Commissioner and Secretary, Urban development, Government of Nagaland, for sponsoring the Nagaland Team with an amount of Rs 1 lakh.
Many dignitaries including S.L Gehara (Founder & President, Jeet Kune Do Foundation of India), Sh.
Bharat Sharma (Chief Instructor Black Cat Commando) & Treasurer (All India Karate Federation), Mr.Harish (Businessman), Sh.
Raj Singh Arya (Chairman Delhi Arya Pardhinidhi Sabha), Mr.Girish ( Businessman), Sh.
Gulshan Bhatia (B.J.P.Councilor ), Sh.
Sudhir Jhanji (C.A.), S.Satnam Singh (working president of Muaythai Association of Delhi), Mr.Devender Dutt Gaur (Org.
Sec of Muaythai Association of Delhi) attended the championships programs.

The biggest National Muaythai Championship has concluded successfully with over two hundred players from 22 states from across the country taking part.
The Nagaland Team has finally emerged as the Best National Muaythai Team with seven gold medals, one silver and three bronze medals.
All the eleven players from the State managed to get medals that led them to be finally adjudged as the "Best National Muaythai Team" of the 2008 National Muaythai Championships.
