Imphal, August 01:
Under the Technology Mission, Horticulture Department in association with Integrated People's Society (IPS) have started cultivation of plantain of the Grand Naine variety at Thangnom village under Saitu-Gamphajol from today.
Under the mission, a target is being set to plan 160 saplings in one hectare covering a total area of 16 hectares.
For the current year, target of cultivation is 5 hectares.
The required technology guidance for cultivation of plantain is being provided by the Dept.
Dy Director of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Kangpokpi H Subhash, other officials, volunteers of IPS and the village chief were present at the occasion.
