Former MP Mani Charenamei, an Independent candidate in Outer Manipur PC in the ensuing LS poll today wooed Ukhrul voters with the promise to raise the tribal's rights issue including protection of their land, culture and equal development at the National level, reports our Ukhrul correspondent.
He was addressing a one day political consultative meeting at Town hall, here.
Supporters from Senapati, Chandel, Tamenglong, Sadar Hills and Ukhrul turned up for the event today.
On being an Independent candidate, the former MP said that he chose to be an Independent candidate as he is convinced he raise his own voice for the concern of the people in Parliament.
Commenting on the Indo- Naga peace talk and SoO of Kuki group, he said that he wants to see all these to its logical conclusion for long lasting solution.
He assured to address unemployment problem in the State too if elected while also conveying his desire to promote tribal culture.
