Ibosana's JAC gives 7-day ultimatum

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the brutal killing of Moirangthem Ibosana (37) son of (L) Thambaljao of Waikhong, has served a seven-day ultimatum to the State authorities to apprehend the culprits involved in the murder and reward them befitting punishment.
Sit-ins were staged at Heirangoithong Keithel, Heirangoithong Makha Maibam Leikai and Oinam Leikai today decrying the murder of Moirangthem Ibosana.
Meanwhile, the members of JAC stormed at Singjamei Police Station demanding the murderers to get arrested within a short time.
SDPO and OC of Singjamei PS pacified the agitators, and assured them that the culprits would be arrested at the earliest possible time after the completion of investigation.
It may be recalled that the body of the deceased, Ibosana, was found dead in a decomposed condition stuffed in a jute bag around 6:30pm of March 4 at the Inter Village Road connecting Langthabal to Ningngombam at Langthabal Phura Makhong Chingmai under Singjamei Police after he was allegedly kidnapped by some unknown persons from Kakwa Sofa Leirak at around 7pm of March 2 .
Ibosana was working as a director at a private import and export company based in New Delhi and had come home some months back.
According to family members, a phone call was received from a person identified as a member of proscribed PULF and demanded a sum of Rs 5 lakhs a month and a half back prior to the kidnapping.
Suspecting the caller to be a phoney, the family had denied the demand of the sum.
The phone calls stopped coming after that, however, numerous phone calls demanding a sum of Rs 10 lakhs for the safe release of Ibosana were received by the family in between 10 am and 5pm of March 4, the day the dead body was recovered.
