Government likely to launch AYUSH floating dispensary in Loktak lake

The State Government is planning to launch an AYUSH floating dispensary in Loktak lake to cater medical treatment to fishermen, villagers of surrounding and tourists visiting the lake, said Health & Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar.
He was speaking at the 3rd Ayurveda Day celebration organised by the Directorate of AYUSH, Lamphel and State Ayush Society Manipur under the theme 'Ayurveda for Public Health" today at Indian Medical Association (IMA) hall, Lamphelpat, Imphal today.
As a part of the celebration, L Jayantakumar announced the launching of an official website of Directorate of AYUSH.
Speaking as chief guest, L Jayantakumar highlighted the importance of the ancient Ayurveda systems of medicines and said that the there will be an "Arogya Mela" from December 6 to 9 in the State.
Encouraging the planters/ farmers of herbal medicinal plants, he urged them to take advantage of the Arogya Mela and interact with the many experts and officials .of big and reputed companies who will be attending the event in December.
As AYUSH/Ayurveda treatment is growing and gaining popularity all over the country, the planters/farmers of the herbal/medicinal plants will be able to generate more income and improve their economy, he said.
The mela and the promotion of AYUSH are all in line with the genuine ambition of the Prime Minister Modi to provide best possible care to the people, he said stressing the significance of Ayushman Bharat launched by the PM.
Lauding the Directorate of AYUSH and State Ayush Society Manipur for their efforts, the Minister called on the farmers and all associated people and general public to participate in the coming mela.
Stressing the importance of Ayurveda medicines and treatment, Additional Director Dr Y Lukhoi Singh said that Lord Dhanwantari is considered the divine propagator of Ayurveda.
He is considered as the physician of the Gods and founder of Ayurveda medicine.
Health & family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh, Director AYUSH Dr A Guneshwor Sharma and Additional Director/Member Secretary EC State AYUSH Society Manipur Dr Y Lukhoi Singh attended the event as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
The Ayurveda day aims at promoting Ayurveda medicines and exploring the potential of Ayurveda to contribute towards National Health Policy & National Health Prog.
