Tipaimukh bodies urge

The Tipaimukh Area Village Authority Union (TAVAU) and Hmar National Union (HNU) have reminded the Chief Minister of his reported assurances of restoring NH-150 and electrification of Tipaimukh area.
Chief Minister O Ibobi while inaugurating the ADC complex at Pherzawl few months back, reportedly assured to restore NH-150 (Tipaimukh road), complete electrification of Tipaimukh area and ensure PDS items reach the people of the area.
The TAVAU and HNU held a joint meeting on July 20 and decided to remind the Chief Minister of his assurances.
The two bodies also urged the CM to fulfil his promises before year end.
The two bodies also said that rice under civil supply is sold at inflated rate in Tipaimukh area.
Besides, they also alleged irregularity in the disbursement of Old Age Pension scheme in the area where aged people had to trek and travel enormous distance to collect the pension money.
They have also urged the Government to send an emergency medical team to assess the reported outbreak of Malaria at many of the villages in the area.
