Seminar on tourism begins

A two-day national seminar on Tourism in NE India was kick-started at Manipur Press Club here today.
The seminar is being organised by Ereima Gender Empowerment and Resource Centre.
PHED Minister I Hemochandra, while addressing the inaugural function, pointed out that Manipur has great potentials, while adding the State would prosper if the unbounded potentials are explored in the right earnest.
The Minister also emphasised that well-structured tourism would lead the State to prosperity while also stressing on the need to improve infrastructure including road connectivity in the State so as to attract tourists.
Prof Lal Dena of MU's History Dept and Dr Th Dhabali, MD Babina Clinic graced the function as the guest of honour and president respectively.
Executive director of EGERC, Imphal Jubita Hajarimayum also attended the inaugural programme of the seminar.
Prof Lal Dena moderated the technical session while Prof GP Prasain, of Commerce Dept, MU and Dr N Surjit Singh of IGNTU spoke as the resource persons.
