Perimeter fencing at Chandel

In continuation of its welfare activities, Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South), dedicated perimeter fencing to All Tribal Women Organisation (ATWO) on 5th November 2018 at Nungourok village, Chandel District under Assam Rifles Civic Actin Project.
All Tribal Women Organisation (ATWO) was formed in 2001 for the protection, assistance and welfare of domestic violence effected women of Chandel and Tengnoupal district.
Thereafter the ATWO has been a pioneer in providing valuable assistance to the effected women of domestic violence, in terms of financial rehabilitation, traumatic rescue, medical assistance, legal assistance and psychological support.
The team of 26 Sector Assam Rifles has been extending invaluable support to the noble cause of the organisation in terms of facilitating and provisioning of skill development to the victims, scholarship to their children and absolute safety and security to the victims in the ATWO premises.
The organisation approached Chandel Battalion for construction of perimeter fencing to address the problem of security of the victims staying in ATWO premises.
The Chandel Battalion immediately responded to the problem and undertook the project for construction of security fencing for the ATWO premises under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme and dedicated the security fencing to the organisation on 5th November 2018.The inauguration ceremony of perimeter fencing was attended by 27 villagers and victims.
The endeavor of Assam Rifles received a huge appreciation from President ATWO, village Chief, and the local populace.
Such projects strengthen the bonds between security forces and local populace of the area.
