Hospital employees to go on pen-down strike

Jiribam, January 05 2018:
The employees of the 50-bedded hospital in Jiribam started a pen-down strike over the non issuance of six months worth of salaries.
Speaking to media persons, one of the employee stated that, considering the necessity of medical assistance and facilities, they have been bearing at the hospital without salaries for almost six months.
The employee further said that almost all the staff are not locals of Jiribam and have been taking care of the public's medical need by residing at staff quarters.
The staff, without getting any money for their basic needs, are unable to continue their jobs and it forced them to begin the pen-down strike today.
The staff warned that they would even take the decision to shut the hospital if their salaries are not released at the earliest.
All section of the hospital remained closed except for emergency services.
They further asserted that they would continue the pen-down strike till tomorrow and the hospital will be indefinitely shut from Monday if the authorities concerned fails to meet the demand of the hospital employees.
