Gardeners skill training prog concludes

The valedictory function of the 200 hours Gardeners Skill Training Programme was held today at ICAR, Manipur Centre with K Kipgen, Director, Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation; K Jogeshchandra Sharma, OIC (MIDH) and Dr I Meghachandra Singh, Joint Director i/c, ICAR, Manipur Centre attending as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
The training programme was organised by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre under the sponsorship of Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Govt of Manipur from Dec
The welcome address was delivered by Dr SS Roy, Scientist (Horticulture) followed by training report presented by A Rajlakshmi Devi, Chief Technical Officer.
In his speech, K Kipgen lauded ICAR for organising the training programme, saying ICAR is the backbone of Horticulture Department.
He also emphasised that it is not possible for the Government to provide job or other assistance to each and every individual.
The gardeners skill training programme is a good opportunity for the participants to acquire skill and knowledge for entrepreneurship development.
Jogeshchandra Sharma explained the importance and benefits of the gardeners skill training and role of MIDH towards skill development of gardeners.
Dr Meghachandra highlighted the various activities of ICAR for betterment of the farming community.
