Voluntary blood donation camp concludes in Chandel

The first ever voluntary blood donation camp cum Motivational talk on Voluntary Blood Donation concluded successfully at Chandel district headquarters today.
Around 50 voluntary blood donors have donated their Gift of Life during the donation camp which was held at the Mini Indoor Stadium.
The programme was organized jointly by District Administration Chandel, 20 Assam Rifles, 26 Sector Assam Rifles, District Health Authority Chandel, Association of Voluntary Blood Donors- Manipur with its Chandel District Branch and Blood Bank JNIMS, Imphal under the sponsorship of Manipur AIDS Control Society and State Blood Transfusion Council- Manipur.
The programme began with a motivational talk on blood donation during which Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Th Chittaranjan Singh; Officiating Commandant of 20 Assam Rifles, Maj Harsh Pandey and Chief Medical Officer Chandel, Dr S Ibomcha Singh attended the occasion as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.
President AVBD-Manipur Dr AK Brogen Singh and Medical Officer & In charge Blood Bank JNIMS, Dr K Surjit Singh while attending the occasion as resource persons spoke on the importance of blood donation.
Officiating Commandant Maj Harsh Pandey in his important motivational speech appreciated the effort of the Association to take up such noble work in the district.
Chandel DC, Th Chittaranjan Singh in his speech made a special mention of the importance, the needs and benefits of blood donation and encouraged donors.
Most of the blood donors were from the Assam Rifles.
