Imphal, February 01 2014 :
The three deserters/defectors who fled away from KNO/KLA's designated Sinai camp on January 2 along with a number of sophisticated weapons have been apprehended with the help of Mizoram Armed Police from Lunglei, Mizoram, conveyed a press release issued by KNO/KLA Home Secretary cum JMG member K Winson Kuki.
A large number of arms and ammunition taken away by the deserters were recovered from the foothills of Twichin hill range of Saikul area on January 30 evening by a combined team of 16 Assam Rifles and Imphal East district police.
Thus the plot to float new armed outfit under the name of KLA (MC) was foiled and as such KLA (MC) is virtually non-existent.
The conspiracy hatched by the three defectors/deserters was an attempt to tarnish the image of KNO/KLA.
KNO/KLA would constitute an internal committee and befitting punishment would be awarded if any one is found guilty, said the Home Secretary.
Saying that the entire operation of hunting down the defectors and tracing the stolen weapons was monitored by ADGP LM Khaute, KNO/KLA conveyed gratitude to the ADGP, 16 Assam Rifles, Mizoram Armed Police, Imphal East Additional SP, Imphal East Commando OC and his team for their efforts in this regard.
