According to the joint statement issued by Tongkhotinthang Thangeo and Dehkhosei Thangeo, Chiefs of Longphailum Village part I and II, complaint and petition were submitted to the RO/DC Tamenglong and CEO Manipur and the copy of the petition was submitted to Gaikhangam, Deputy CM and the SDO/ARO Nungba, objecting the inclusion of the villagers to cast their votes in the new polling station at Tuiphai.
It said that the previous polling station 54/30 Longkaiphun was about 9 km from the village while Tuiphai is about 14 to 15 km away and the road conditions are bad.
As such, the village authority appealed to the Government to open a new polling station at Longphailum.
It also said it will boycott any form of election which will be conducted by the Election Department in case it fails to fulfil the village's requirements.
