Imphal, April 09 2018:
Aggrieved by the State Government's failure to fulfil any of their 10 demands, the foremost being implementation of the 7th Pay, the Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) has lined up a series of agitation including mass casual leave on April 13 .
A decision to this effect was adopted at a meeting of MSSA held at the Secretariat conference hall today.
Notably, MSSA has been asking the State Government to fulfill their 10 demands for quite some time.
They also submitted appeals and reminders about their demands to the Government in March and April too, informed a source.
However, the Government is yet to initiate any process to fulfil the demands.
According to a press release issued by MSSA, Secretariat employees would take mass casual leave on April 13 .
This would be followed by half-day cease work strike from 1 pm to 5 pm on April 16 and 17 .
An indefinite cease work strike would be launched from April 18 until and unless the MSSA's demands are fulfilled or until an understanding is reached between the Government and MSSA for translation of the demands into action.
Pointing out that IAS, IPS IFS and judicial officers posted in the State have been enjoying 7th Pay since many months back, the MSSA appealed to all the MCS, MPS and MFS officers to support the scheduled agitation.
A copy of the series of agitation decided at today's meeting has been submitted to the Chief Secretary, added the source.
