Khuga Battalion assists ex-servicemen, veer naris

Khuga Battalion under the aegis of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles has recovered more than two crores for Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris of the district on account of their pension anomalies, said PIB Defence Wing in a press release.
Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles has laid special emphasis to reach out to the Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris of Churachandpur district with an aim to resolve their grievances and issues mainly pertaining to pension anomalies.
Hence, an 'Ex-Servicemen Grievances Cell' or 'Suvigya Cell' was established at Khuga and a reach out programme was launched.
Various teams were formed and sent to villages for providing wide publicity about the initiative being under taken, so that maximum Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris can be benefited.
Till date, Khuga Battalion has taken up 344 cases of pension anomalies in respect of Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris with Government Treasury and concerned banks to rectify the discrepancy and release the amount as per entitlement.
The overall reimbursement due to Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris amounted to Rs 3,03,17,868 .
Out of this 228 Ex-Servicemen have already been credited an amount of Rs 2,04,01,499 through treasury in to their pension accounts.
Out of 228 Ex-Servicemen, 105 Ex-Servicemen have been credited with more than Rs 65,28,3.98 of amount in their bank accounts.
Hence in order to reaffirm the commitment towards the welfare of Ex-Servicemen and to guide the Ex-Servicemen towards better utilization of the amount reimbursed, an Ex-Servicemen interaction was conducted at Headquarter 27 Sector Assam Rifles, the release conveyed.
The aim of interaction was also to address any other grievances and spread awareness in larger Ex-Servicemen fraternity to come to visit Suvigya Cell for checking of anomalies so that more Ex-Servicemen case get benefited from the initiative.
More than 110 Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris attended the function and shared their experiences andhappiness of recovery of their due amount.
During the event a talk was also given on various Government Schemes, forthcoming Army Recruitment Rally in October and admission process of Sainik/Military School.
'Mobile Interactive Terminal for Rural Areas' (MITRA) was placed during the interaction to benefit the wards of Ex-Service-men.
The interaction concluded with a vote of thanks by
the Ex-Servicemen, it added.
