Imphal, April 09 2018:
Former Manipur Assembly Speaker and Khundrakpam A/C MLA Thokchom Lokeshore has claimed that the documents produced by Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar in connection with the shifting of Imphal East District Hospital from Sagolmang to Kyamgei, which allegedly showed the presence of land disputes, are forged documents.
Speaking to media persons at his residence at Keishampat today, Lokeshore said that he has received a photocopy of the document produced by Minister Jayantakumar yesterday and said that the said documents or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) does not have proper details and seems to have been forged.
He explained that an MoA is usually signed between two or more parties but the said documents does not have any specific details about any organisation or parties.
L Lokeshore admitted that said MoA contained the names of two members of his family as well as six land owners, but there are no signatures from his family's side.
He claimed that no authority has given such documents to him and added that he has not even seen the said documents produced by the Minister before.
The MLA explained that as per the alleged documents, the parties gave their signatures on September 1 last year, and the rate of the land is mentioned as Rs 4.90 lakh per 0.62 acre.
Claiming that such baseless documents have created confusion in Khundrakpam A/C, the MLA further said that the documents were also dispersed by an association called PDCC which came out of nowhere.
Urging the Health Minister to provide proper proofs to establish the authenticity of the documents, the MLA also appealed to the authorities concerned to take up necessary actions against those involved in spreading such baseless and wrong information.
Appealing to the State Government to make a clear stand and announce shifting of District Hospital from Sagolmang if it wants to, MLA Lokeshore urged those concerned not to spread any false rumours and warned that he would take up necessary legal actions if the need arises.
