Condemning the appointment of a non local as the Principal of NG College, Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) NG College unit staged a sit in protest the college campus at Lamphelpat today and locked the office of the Principal as well.
Speaking to media persons at the spot, KSA unit president of NG College Wahengbam Duhesh said that the association will never accept the appointment of a non local as the Principal of the College.
He claimed that the said Principal is not eligible as per the criteria of the MPSC and appealed to the State Government and the authority concerned to take up necessary actions at the earliest.
Duhesh said that as per the criteria of the MPSC, the candidates should be a permanent resident of the State, must be born here and his/her parents must also be permanent residents of the State.
They should also be in the electoral roll, he added.
Dr Gopal Chandra Bagh, who was appointed as the Principal of the college, is a tenant at Paona Bazar, he further claimed.
