Black rice products launched

Rima Food Industries launched black rice products including (a first of its kind in the State) a black rice tea, at United Youth's Club, Lairikyengbam Leikai, Salanthong today.
Nongthombam (o) Hiyainu w/o CM N Biren, K Debadutta Sharma, Project Director, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Manipur, Laishram Ibetombi Devi, Deputy Manager, National Small Industries Corporation, Lairenjam Olen Singh, Zilla Parishad Member (Laipham Khunou), P Loken Singh, Chairman of Manipur Industry Development Council, Y Raghumani Singh, retd DIC General Manager and H Tombi, Pradhan Member, Lairikyengbam Leikai Gram Panchayat attended the event as the presidium members.
Speaking at the event, N Hiyainu said that the entrepreneurial spirit of Laishram Rima Devi, the owner of Rima Food Industry is laudable and wished her success in her future endeavours.
On the other hand, K Debadutta Sharma said that Rima is a budding entrepreneur and stressed on the importance of maintaining the quality of the black rice, brand building initiatives, brand building process, market promotion etc.
He also explained about the beneficial properties of black rice and claimed that black rice is good for preventing cancer and can be consumed by diabetics and those with blood pressure problems.
Debadutta further urged Rima to promote the brand name and also update the nutritional information in the product packaging.
