Thoubal District T-20 Cricket Tournament : Al-Ameen beat WYC by 40 runs to emerge champs

Al-Ameen, Lilong Chajing today beat WYC, Wangkhem by 40 runs in the final to lift the title of the Thoubal District T-20 Cricket Tournament 2018 organised by Thoubal District Cricket Association at Luwangsangbam Cricket Stadium, Luwangpokpa.
Al-Ameen who won the toss and opted to bat first had a slow start before posting a total of 135 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Anish opened up with 26 runs before he went out in the 11th delivery while Nawaz went out with 16 runs from 18 balls he faced.
Abdullah then manned the batting front of Al-Ameen responsibly for a while and added 21 runs from his end off 16 balls.
Safwan also made his name on the scoresheet hitting 15 runs off 21 balls to make it 135 at the end.
Rajesh and Baboy of WYC tried hard to trouble the batting line up of Al-Ameen taking down 2 wickets each while Pribarta and Maka claimed one wicket apiece in 4 overs they were allotted.
The target was big enough for WYC as they were bowled out with a meagre 95 runs in 20 overs.
Samungou tried his best to lift his team scoring 23 runs in 24 balls but Noushad and Sahdad of the Lilong side produced fine bowling performances to restrict the score below 100.Hero Kumar and Roshan of WYC also contributed 18 runs (32 balls) and 16 runs (16 balls) before the innings ended with 95 runs.
Noushad enjoyed a 4 wicket haul while Sahdad picked up 2 wickets.
Samir also claimed one wicket in this innings.
Lt Col Mohd Sahid Khan (Indian Army); Md Sadiqur Rahman, Asst Professor Economics, Lilong Haoreibi College; Alhaj Mohd Hassan, treasurer, Lilong Sports Association and Md Anwar Hussain, Former Project Director, IIE Guwahati attended the closing ceremony of the tournament as dignitaries who also gave away prizes to the winners and other players of outstanding performances.
Winners, Al-Ameen walked away Rs 20,000 richer with winners' trophy while WYC contended with runners up trophy and a cash prize of Rs 15,000.Noushad of Al-Ameen was adjudged man of the match for his 4 wicket haul and 9 runs contribution.
Man of the series title went to Md Samir of Al-Ameen for 186 runs and 7 wicket feat throughout the tournament while Noushad bagged the highest wicket taker title with a total of 13 wickets under his belt.
WYC's Mangi claimed the coollest captain of the tournament title.
