Imphal, May 30 2018:
All rank and file of the NDPP congratulates the people of Nagaland and the electorates for positively participating in the election process of the bye elections to the Lok Sabha constituency.
The high polling percentage is a clear indication that the people have faith in democracy and the State continues to contribute towards the strengthening of the country's democratic principles.
Irrespective of the outcome of the elections, the NDPP extends its appreciation to all sections of the people for a peaceful elections which was mostly incident free and people could come out and participate in the election process under an environment of peace and tranquility.
The NDPP carried out a responsible, mature and vision oriented campaign, which was aimed at uniting all sections of the people.
The party along with the PDA coalition partners highlighted the visions of the leaders, the development agenda of the government and the emphasis on peace and unity.
It was unfortunate that our adversaries focused more on a divisive agenda on communal and religious lines which was never before witnessed in Nagaland.
However, the PDA refused to get drawn into any paper war and remained focused on our agenda of bringing all sections together in order to implement a new and progressive development plan for Nagaland.
The NDPP also extends its appreciation to the Election Commission of India and the State Election Department along with all the government machineries for conducting the elections in a successful and exemplary manner.
Our appreciation goes out to the Church organisations, tribal hohos, civil societies and NGOs for extending all possible support and for the positive contributions.
The NDPP further extends appreciation to the coalition partners of the PDA for the support, solidarity and cooperation.
The show of cohesiveness and understanding within the alliance will motivate all of us to rededicate ourselves towards serving the people.
The party once again appeals to all sections to extend cooperation and partner with the government to collectively work towards achieving our common goals as one family.
