Imphal, January 16, 2012:
Contending that some questions set for the combined competitive examination (Prelims) 2010 conducted by Manipur Public Service Commission are inaccurate/erroneous, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has demanded that the said examination be reconducted.
Speaking to newspersons at its Keishampat office today, DESAM president LC Santosh claimed that atleast seven questions in Booklet B series were posed to the candidates in an incoherent manner.
He pointed out the said errors as Question 90/Page 70, Q 48/P 63, Q 53/P 64, Q 15/P 60, Q 144/P 77, Q 167/P 80 and Q 44/P 63. Further claiming than MPSC officials manually altered page set-up of the question papers which he said is against the prescribed norms of any competitive examination, Santosh speculated that the alteration might be a deliberate act to favour certain candidates.
Substantiating his assumption, the DESAM functionary alleged that some close relatives of MPSC officials had appeared in the said examination which is also violation of prescribed norms.
Santosh said a complaint would be placed before the Governor so that services of relevant investigating agency, including the CBI could be roped in to fix responsibility.
