SWAK to inspect Govt schools

Students' Welfare Association of Kangleipak (SWAK) is all set to inspect the functioning of existing Government schools which have started to crumble.
A release issued by the secretary general of SWAK informed that the decision was dubbed in a meeting attended by key members of the group held yesterday at its head office of Kwakeithel Haorokchanbi Soibam Leikai.
It is maintained that providing quality education to the students could help in enhancing the development process of a society and ideal situation of the said quality education is possible only when the educational institutions are functioning effectively as well as the teachers contributing their best, added the release.
Mentioning that Govt schools are mostly accessed by the students belonging to poor families, the students' group lamented that non-functioning of the existing schools including the lackadaisical attitude of the teachers are the uncertainty hangs heavy over the fates of the poor students.
SWAK further appealed all concerned to follow the guidelines of academic calendar issued by the Directorate of Education (S), Govt of Manipur.
All teachers are also requested to perform their duties efficiently without considering the number of students admitted.
It also urged the authority concerned to conduct monthly test examination from the coming academic year of 2012. Teachers of the concerned schools should take their responsibility in making the said monthly test a success, it added.
The students' group also appealed to the teachers that those students who fail to attend the said monthly test should be asked for their explanation over the absence and should also conduct proper interaction with their respective guardians/parents to deal it effectively.
SWAK further noted that the union is expecting the cooperation and supports from all concerned in adopting the above intimations by considering the welfare of the students.
