SEACO website launched

Imphal, January 16, 2012:
The South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO), Kangleipak today launched its website www.seaco.imphal.org and also released a book Khongun Mutsillaklaba Yelhoungeigi Harao Kumheising published by SEACO in a function held at the Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
Deputy Director, Manipur State Archives Dr K Sushila and President SEACO Koijam Brojen (Keingamba) graced the function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Forest Conservator Sinam Dhananjoy also attended as Guest of Honour.
Speaking in the occasion, SEACO Secretary Loya Maisnam said that the book based on indigenous festivals was compiled with references from Kondumba Birchandra, Indramani, Chandrasekhar and many other noted persons and published for future references.
The book also aims in rooting out the alien festivals which have been mixed up with the traditional festivals and cultures.
The website of the organisation which was launched today will be used as an effective medium in providing informations about traditions, cultures, religion and identity of Kangleipak.
It will also become a common platform for those Manipuris who have settled in different parts of the globe.
Maiba Hanba of Utra Shanglen Sana Konung Samjetsabam Kondumba talked on the role of Pisatao in indigenous Manipuri traditions and beliefs.
Vice President of IPSA Khumukcham Chingkhei, Maibam Tomba Khuman, Haobam Sanajaoba, Angomcha Araba, W Iboyaima Luwang, Mangangcha Keisham Ibomcha and H Ibotombi Khuman also attended the function as resource persons.
