Imphal, July 07 2016 :
Although LPG supply and distribution has improved considerably since some months back, there are times when some distributors could not distribute LPG refills to public in time because either they do not have their own vehicles or their vehicles breakdown.
According to information received from IOC's Imphal Divisional Retail Sales Office, all LPG distributors should have their own vehicles for transportation of LPG refills in order to ensure regular distribution of refills.
Even though LPG distribution has improved a lot, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) does not have adequate number of vehicles for supplying refilled cylinders to all LPG distributors from Sekmai bottling plant without interruption.
IOC has their own transporters but the transporters does not have adequate number of vehicles.
As such, there are times when IOC could not supply adequate number of LPG refills to all distributors in time.
Nonetheless, all LPG distributors have been instructed to keep their own vehicles so that they can distribute refills regularly in adequate quantity.
The transport charge for lifting LPG refills from Sekmai bottling plant to respective distributors is paid by the IOC.
For the last one month and a half, Jemon Gas Service could not get adequate number of refills because their vehicles were not in working condition, and it had lifted only three truck loads of refills this month.
As a result, Jemon Gas Service could not distribute LPG refills in adequate numbers.
Nonetheless, it is reported that Jemon Gas Service has now two vehicles which are fully operational.
