State logs 16 fresh cases

Imphal, March 10 2022:
The state on Thursday reported 16 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1173 samples tested, registering a daily test positivity rate of 1.36 per cent against 0.73 per cent reported on Wednesday.
No new death case was reported on Thursday and the fatality toll stands at 2116 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 192 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 18 patients were discharged from home isolation (13), RIMS (1), JNIMS (l)and CCCs (3) .
The active case came down to 94 out of which 36 (38.30 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 285 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 119 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only eight reported fresh Covid cases on Thursday.
So far, the state has re corded 11,159 positive cases and 114 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 164 new positive cases and 4 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 93 and 3 respectively.
According to official re ports, all the 16 fresh cases (8 male & 8 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (1) .
JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (14).The positive cases are from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (5), Thoubal (1), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (1), Noney (1), Churachandpur (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,947 (general population - 1,31,933 and CAPF personnel - 5,014).Number of recovered cases is 1,34,737 (general population - 1,29,735 and CAPF personnel - 5,002) and number of active cases is 94 (general population - 89 and CAPF personnel - 5) .
The recovery rate is 98.39 per cent.
A total of 163 D-type and 17 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 3633 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,19,933, out of which 11,59,651 had received second doses and 62,254 precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,661), Imphal East (30,403), Thoubal (10,133), Churachandpur (11,043), Kangpokpi (3126), Tamenglong (3469), Bishnupur (9817), Senapati (2482), Ukhrul (3264), Kakching (6879), Chandel (2705), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,134 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,638 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,10,956 tests per million population against the national average of 5,53,227 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1173 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.36 per cent while the cumulative rate stands at 8.64 per cent.
