BJP wins 4, NPP 2 seats in Bishnupur

Bishnupur, March 10 2022:
As the results of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election were declared on Thursday, Bharati ya Janata Party (BJP) has won 4 seats in Bishnupur District, while National People's Party (NPP) bagged 2 seats.
Altogether 22 candidates including 3 women contested the election from six assembly constituencies in the district, namely Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi, the result of which were declared at the multipurpose hall of new mini secretariat complex on Thursday.
For the seat of 24-Nambol AC, BJP candidate Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh (16,885) defeated Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Nameirakpam Loken Singh (13,825) with a margin of 3060 votes.
The seat of 26-Bishnupur AC was won by BJP candi date Govindas Konthoujam (13,611) with a margin of 1409 votes against his nearest rival, Janata Dal (United) candidate Oinam Nabakishore who secured 12;202 votes.
In 28-Thanga AC, BJP candidate Tongbram Robindro (13,095) emerged victorious with a margin of 5251 votes, leaving INC candidate Birla Haobijam (7844) trailing behind in the second place.
NPP candidate Thongam Shanti Singh (14,349) won by the seat of 27-Moirang AC defeated BJP candidate Mairembam Prithviraj Singh (12,118) by around 2231 votes.
In 25-Oinam AC, NPP candidate Irengbam Nalini Devi (10,808) defeated sitting MLA Laishram Radhakishore (10,366) with a margin of 442 votes.
Lastly, in 20-Kumbi AC, BJP candidate Sanasam Premchanda (8513) won the election with a margin of 372 votes against JD(U) candidate Ahanthem Shan-joy (8141) .
