Imphal, March 10 2022:
Darjeeling MP and BJP national spokesperson Raju Bista has congratulated all the winning candidates of the party in the recently held assembly elections in five states.
In a release, Raju Bista opined that the thumping victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in four out of the five states - Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Goa where it contested as the incumbent, and improved performance in Punjab in the assembly elections, is a testament of people's absolute faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and their support to BJP's core philosophy of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash, Sabka Prayash'.
"I am confident that under Modiji's guidance, the BJP governments in these four states will work tirelessly to ensure peace, progress, development and well-being of the people", said the Darjeeling MP, who was born and brought up in Manipur before shifting his place of settlement in Darjeeling.
The MP emphasised that the historic victory has been made possible due to clean, honest, transparent and pro-people government and governance measures undertaken by BJP in these states.
These victories are also a rejection of caste-based politics, appeasement politics and vote-bank politics.
People from every sphere of life, every section of the society, every caste and religion have overwhelmingly voted for BJP, while rejecting the politics of hate and divisions practised by others, he added.
Raju Bista mentioned that in Manipur, under the leadership of chief minister N Biren Singh, BJP has bucked the anti-incumbency factor and showed a tremendous improvement.
From being the second largest party in 2017, the BJP is emerging as the single largest party in Manipur with a majority on its own.
In Manipur too, BJP's vote share has increased substantially.
It is important to note that under chief minister Yogi Adityanath, this is for the first time ever, a sitting CM who has served the full five-year Term has been re-elected in Uttar Pradesh and also the first government to get re-elected in UP in 37 years, he stated.
Raju Bista continued that in Uttarakhand, the trend of changing parties in power every five years has been ended today.
This is for the first time ever, Uttarakhand has re-elected a state government.
In Uttarakhand too, BJP has retained its vote share.
Despite being in power for the past 10 years and related anti-incumbency factors, under the leadership of chief minister Pramod Sawant, BJP's electoral performance in Goa has witnessed a sharp improvement.
From being the second-largest party in 2017, BJP is emerging as the single largest party in this election, and BJP will be forming the government in Goa for a historic third time in a row, he conveyed.
The MP further noted that while the people in Punjab have favoured other parties, they are happy with BJP's performance in the state.
