Imphal, June 15 2015 :
The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has today said that the Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCPM)'s baseless and hollow assertion about the involvement of UKLF in the ongoing Indian army operation in Chandel district was totally uncalled for at this juncture.
"Portraying UKLF as 'armed black gang' on the part of MCPM is very ridiculous and childish, they (MCPM) must think twice before putting that kind of tag and irresponsible remarks on a revolutionary organization (UKLF) which is firmly committed to the people and the land," said a statement issued by MP Haokip, information and publicity secretary of UKLF.
"As a dedicated revolutionary organization, we have full regards and solidarity towards fellow revolutionary groups but this goodwill and mutual respect standpoint we adopt and propagate must not be abused by whosoever is concerned," it said.
The UKLF added that with the hope of early solution to the Kuki political problem they are actively engaged in tripartite Suspension of Operation pact with the GoI and GoM as such they have camps openly with the full knowledge of all the parties concerned.
As such, labelling UKLF as "armed black gang" do not holds water, it said.
Minthang and Thangboi alias Jacob are team members of the SoO Joint Monitoring Group (JMG) representing UKLF in monitoring trilaterally agreed ground rules of the SoO, the UKLF statement said.
Thus, unnecessarily implicating their names with whatever intention is very unfortunate and misleading which reflects low-level of understanding of the SoO mechanism on the part of the MCPM, the UKLF statement added.
